Jonathan Jenkins, LMFT #102280
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

Jonathan Jenkins is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Since 2010 he has worked in hospital clinics, outpatient programs, jails, and substance use clinics. That range gives him experience with a wide variety of clients and presenting concerns.
With individuals, he most often uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed approaches. To learn more, the Beck Institute and the Linehan Institute are good starting points.
With couples, he follows the Gottman Method. For an introduction, The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work is a helpful read.
With families, he generally practices Structural and Transgenerational therapy, and draws on Milan, Strategic, and Narrative approaches when they suit a particular family.
He uses assessments, treatment plans, and, when appropriate, workbooks and journals to support his clients' work.
One of his greatest strengths is the breadth of his experience. He has lived and worked with people from many racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and religious backgrounds. He believes each person is an individual, and he treasures hearing each client's story. Witnessing their resilience and hope is one of the most meaningful parts of the work.
