Riley Van Holley, MS

Riley Van Holley is a Registered Psychological Associate and doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at Capella University. His background includes clinical mental health counseling, inpatient psychiatric care, behavioral health case management, psychological assessment, and forensic psychology. He earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Mississippi while working as an emergency room technician, where exposure to medical and psychiatric crises strengthened his interest in the relationship between mental health, behavior, and overall well-being.

After relocating to California, Riley Van completed a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and developed expertise in psychological disorders, clinical assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based interventions. He has more than six years of experience in inpatient psychiatric settings, including serving as a Case Manager at Stabler Lane Behavioral Health, where he coordinated multidisciplinary care, supported individuals with complex psychiatric needs, connected clients with community resources, and assisted with treatment and discharge planning.

Mr. Holley’s doctoral training focuses on clinical and forensic psychology, with interests in forensic assessment, juvenile justice, child welfare, parental capacity evaluations, risk assessment, competency related evaluations, and the psychological factors underlying criminal and delinquent behavior. He continues to develop advanced skills in psychological evaluation, diagnostic formulation, clinical interviewing, and report writing. Guided by a commitment to ethical, culturally responsive, and evidence-based practice, Riley Van strives to apply psychological science to support informed decision making, effective treatment, and positive outcomes in both behavioral health and legal settings.
